Born and educated in the Gippsland region, Ricky Muir has spent most of his working life in agriculture, the automotive component industry, and the timber industry.

Starting on the shop-floor in the timber industry, he worked his way up to management, filling the roles of First-Aid Officer, Health and Safety Representative, and Union Delegate along the way.

A dedicated father of five, he spends his leisure time with his family following their shared passion for motor sports, four-wheel driving, camping in the Victorian high country, and riding dirt-bikes.

Ricky Muir became Senator Ricky Muir on the 1 July, 2014 and holds this federal senate seat as a representative of the Australian Motoring Enthusiast Party for six years.
